How to Access The Indigo Disk DLC

How to Access The Indigo Disk DLC

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC is available from December 13, 2023, but in order to access it, there are several things you need to do first.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC becomes available from the 13th of December, 2023. However, there are a few steps you'll need to follow before gaining access to it. This isn't free DLC; it's the latter part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion, so it requires a purchase. Below, we've laid out the precise steps to access The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Access the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC

Here’s a brief step-by-step guide, but for more details, keep scrolling. First and foremost, ensure you have completed both the Treasure Hunt main story in the main game AND finished The Teal Mask DLC.

  1. Ensure your copy of Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet is updated to Ver. 3.0.0.
  2. Purchase and download the DLC
  3. Update Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet again
  4. Professor Clavell will call you once you finish the main story and The Teal Mask DLC
  5. Head to the Academy, but DO NOT go to Clavell’s office as he says; instead, in the lobby speak to a man you see there with a white suit and hat

1. Update Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To quickly find the DLC, make sure Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet are updated. You can check this by pressing + on the game tile in the main Nintendo Switch menu and looking for updates.

2. Purchase and Download the DLC

Open the Nintendo eShop from the Nintendo Switch main menu or access it directly from your copy of Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. Once connected to the internet, navigate to the menu, press L, and look for the "Downloadable Content" button on the bottom right. Click it to access the eShop page where you can buy the DLC.

The Indigo Disk DLC is part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, which includes The Teal Mask DLC. They cannot be bought separately and are available for $34.99 on the eShop. Make sure to purchase the one specific to your game version.

After purchasing, you might need to close Pokemon to download the DLC without interruptions.

3. Close the Game and Update Pokemon Again

After downloading, an update should automatically apply to your Pokemon Scarlet or Violet copy, enabling the DLC. Close the game for the changes to take effect.

4. Once Conditions Are Met, Director Clavell Will Call You

After downloading the entire DLC and completing both the main story and The Teal Mask DLC, Director Clavell will contact you. He’ll inform you of your appointment as an exchange student at Blueberry Academy.

Unlike The Teal Mask, which can be finished before or after the main story and adjusts Pokemon levels accordingly, The Indigo Disk is specifically endgame content and reportedly doesn’t scale. Wild Pokemon will range in the high 50s to early 60s, while Pokemon in trainer battles will be slightly higher. Ensure you’re well-prepared!

5. Head to the Academy, Speak to the Man in White

Despite Clavell's instruction to meet in his office, your actual task is to talk to the man in the school lobby dressed in a white suit and a dapper white hat with blue trim, his back facing you. This individual is Director Cyrano from Blueberry Academy.
After a brief misunderstanding with Clavell, all you need to do is speak to Cyrano again, and off you go to Blueberry Academy (apparently in Unova) for The Indigo Disk DLC!
